Usually the Food Critic is not allowed in the kitchen (something which he is defensive about to no end… “I can cook anything if you’re not around…”) and solely delegated to the position of Critic. However, after the late dinner Wednesday, Food Critic decided he was tired of waiting for meals and took matters into his own hands.

I can trust the Food Critic to never deviate a smidge from a recipe. So, just mosey over to epicurious.com and search for Sausage and Mushroom Penne Gratin for this bit of goodness. It was a little rich, but very tasty. According to the Chef/Critic, it’s much tastier with tomato sauce and a shot of vodka… though that could just be the vodka speaking… as previously determined, Food Critic has a bit of a yen for anything with a lot of alcohol
